Manila Typesetting Company (MTC) is honored to have attended the gathering of more than 660 scholarly publishing professionals in this year's Association of University Presses 2019 (AUPresses 2019) Annual Meeting held at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center, Detroit, MI. The prestigious event was attended by MTC Operations Director Myrna Ting, Executive Editorial Assistant Sabrina Parys, and Vice President of Sales Mitchell Freiberg.
About 119 member presses and registrants from 16 countries came to share an incredible learning and sharing environment, and MTC is looking forward to be a part once again in the much-awaited AUPresses 2020.

Publishing professionals, top authors and aspiring writers from over 130 countries gathered under one roof for the LBF 2019, where visitors and exhibitors networked with each other for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across various channels such as print, audio, TV, film and digital media. As always, the halls were packed with some of the biggest names in the publishing industry. It was a pleasure for MTC to interact with like-minded individuals and companies in a highly celebrated event that highlights the trends and key topics facing the publishing industry.

The strategic alliance of MTC and TFG launched in January 2018 and aims to provide the best of onshore and offshore production services of journals and books. By combining the experience of editorial services from onshore resources with the cost efficient composition services of offshore, this alliance can bring the best in quality and price to book and journal publishers.
We provide the workflow services to meet the customers exact requirements enabling them to efficiently achieve their publishing goals.
On the 16th of December 2017, MTC held its' annual children's party for children of all the staff. As usual it was a riotous affair with games, karaoke, eating, and gifts. This is one of the most enjoyable days in the MTC calendar.

MTC celebrated its' annual Christmas party on December 10th 2017. This year was memorable for the 10th year since MTC began in 2007. Sadly the co-founder Michael Angless passed away earlier this year, but the spirit of MTC continues and the staff all enjoyed a wonderful party.

Paul Martin joined MTC as Sales and Marketing Director. Paul has been involved with STEM both in the UK and the USA. Paul joins the sales and marketing team of MTC.
With the addition of two very experienced sales and marketing staff, MTC are now looking forward to considerable expansion in the next 2-3 years. Mitchell Freiberg joined MTC as Vice President Sales. Mitch has extensive experience in the publishing marketplace and will play a key role in the future development of MTC.
October 10th of this year marks the tenth anniversary of Manila Typesetting Company, and so our theme is "10-10 at 10!". The theme symbolizes a triple 10, a perfect score, a milestone celebrated by our company for a decade of providing data services. For the past 10 years and counting, we are proud to have served all our clients with the quality we have always been known for. From self-publishing authors to big and small publishers from around the world, thank you for letting us continuously serve you.
Here's a quick bit of history: Our founders, Paul Hartley and Michael Angless*, were old friends; they go way, way back! In 2007, they created a small company in the Philippines called Manila Typesetting Company (MTC). It started with only less than 20 staff, running on a two-shift schedule, with clients so few that you can count them on your fingers. Ten years, thousands of books and articles, hundreds of ePubs and Mobis, and thousands of email communications with clients and authors later, here we are, stronger than ever. Michael would have been proud to witness what the company has become.
To mark the start of the celebration, the company prepared a celebratory feast for all the employees.
For a special treat, all the pioneer employees, the ones who have been with the company from the start and stayed loyal, enjoyed a fine evening at Dusit Hotel. They had dinner at The Pantry Restaurant.
And we are just getting started! From around 20 employees 10 years ago, we are proud to keep on growing stronger as a family. With currently over 200 employees, we will continue to provide quality service and innovation to all our clients. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our success. MTC will be exhibiting at the American Association of University Presses Annual Conference which is being held in Philadelphia on June 16 – 18.
